No one wants to attend the same event twice. Even if the last wedding you attended was absolutely gorgeous and had the best band; the next wedding you attend, you expect it to be totally different with decor and entertainment; especially if it is your wedding. At Purposeful Events we have very unique brides as clients, and here are five tips on personalizing your special day that we would like to share with you.
I. Colors

Choose colors that are unique and compliment you as a couple as well as your bridal party. This is the easiest and most cost efficient way to personalize your wedding. Who says that the Bride must wear white or ivory? What about Champagne or Dusty Rose colored gown? Be creative, but make sure you don't go outside of the box with too many colors that don't complement each other. You don't want to make your bridal party, family, and guest feel like they have stepped into an acid trip.
II. Escort Cards

Escort Cards are a small but important detail at all weddings. They can be personalized in so many inexpensive ways. Escort Cards can be personalized by using colors, symbols, monograms, you can print notes to your guest on them, and the list goes on and on!
III. Table Names

Let the fun begin at the reception dinner. One client of ours named their guest tables after great jazz musicians, which went along perfectly with their 40's themed wedding reception. The guest loved the added touch, which proved to be an icebreaker while waiting for dinner to be served. We've also had clients name their reception tables after their favorite cities that they have visited together and another couple chose romantic movies. When personalizing table names, make sure your planner has a detailed floor plan and staff is available to assist guest locating their table.
IV. Aisle Runners

A personalized aisle runner is a subtle touch that will make any guest "OOOH and AHHH." Thanks to companies like The Original Runner Company, brides are able to really get creative. Decorate your runner with your monogram, a unique pattern such as stripes or heart shapes, or your wedding date. You could also forget the fabric all together and use flower petals to create gorgeous shapes to decorate your aisle.
V. Family Contributions
Purposeful Events Bride Cydni with her Father, Dress-Maker www.purposefulevents.weebly.com
When our client first told me that her father was making her wedding dress, I almost fainted. But after seeing his previous dress-making work, my mind was put to ease. She was a gorgeous bride and her day was even more special because of the gorgeous gown her father made for her. You can't get more personalized than that!
(by-the-way, we found a professional bridal salon that does fabulous custom gowns www.veronicacouturebrides.com ask for Ann Veronica and tell her that Purposeful Events sent you!)
While I'm not encouraging all of you brides to have your father make your gowns, how about asking crafty family members and friends to make something special for your wedding celebration events. Does Aunt Carol make delicious taffy? How about you ask her to whip up a batch for the rehearsal dinner favors. Make sure when asking family members to participate that you discuss it with your mate beforehand and give that person plenty of time to prepare. This small touch adds family value and tradition to your wedding occasions.
